RED DOOR is an apartment building constructed on a 750m2 plot of land in a dense residential neighborhood in Addis Ababa comprising of 13 Apartments units of 1,2 and 3 Bedroom types including a roof top terrace to be used as an event space. The use of interlocking boxes where intruding/extruding forms define the floors and the spaces within creates a playful façade while also giving a unique quality of internal/external spaces within the apartment.

The extensions of the living rooms with the narrow verandas on each side allow for spaces for greenery to connect with nature and the beautiful vistas, while used for protection from the harsh sunlight. Bold colors are part of the palette of our lives and the red and white colors of the façade gives the building a striking presence in the neighborhood.
