The challenge was to create spaces that could comfortably accommodate the ever growing crew numbers of the Ethiopian airlines as well as luxurious space that would serve as a terminal for commercially important clients, all while adhering to the program and bridging documents provided by EAL in-house architects.
The spaces are categorized into Crew Zone and CIP (Commercially important personnel) Zone. The crew Zone primarily consists of 20 briefing rooms, where crews of a flight brief each other prior to the flight, offices spaces, make- up room, Duty- free shop, crew delay waiting and a spacious Lounge. Additionally, the CIP Zone, which is accessed separately, includes meeting and praying room, Duty free Shop, a Waiting area for CIP guests upon arrival and a Luxurious Lounge together with its own kitchen.
The first phase of the project is on course to be completed on August 2023 GC and the second phase is expected to be ready in the beginning of 2024.
