Royal Academy of Arts

The Royal Academy Dorfman Award is an architecture prize awarded by the Royal Academy of Arts in London, UK. The award was established in 2017 with a generous donation from the Dr. Mortimer and Theresa Sackler Foundation and is named after its lead benefactor, Lloyd Dorfman.

The award is given annually to an architect or team of architects who have completed a significant work of architecture in the past year that demonstrates excellence, innovation, and vision. The winning project is exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, and the winner is awarded a cash prize of £10,000.

The Royal Academy Dorfman Award is one of the most prestigious architecture prizes in the world, and it has helped to raise the profile of many emerging architects and their practices.

Although RAAS Architects did not ultimately win the 2018 Royal Academy Dorfman Award, their inclusion as a finalist highlights the firm’s growing reputation as an innovative, socially responsible architectural practice that is making significant contributions to the field of architecture.
